Client Testimonials - An Amazing Promotion Tool

Not making the most of client testimonials? You should be as they are a powerful resource. Here are some great ways to make the most of them.

1) Insert a colored box on your web site for each testimonial. Include the author’s (buyer’s) name and his or her domain name (not hyperlinked, so that shoppers don’t click away from your site) with specific comments directed towards your service quality. If you don’t have anything this detailed, write some of your top clients and tell them what you are looking for and see if they can help out in exchange for promotion for them for free on your site. Then to give the testimonials more value, more credibility, add the author’s photo and even an audio clip or video testimonial.

2) Have a frequently asked questions (FAQ) page and include testimonials here. This is very powerful if you can use a client testimonial as an answer. For example, you may include a question about customer support, and then use a testimonial confirming how good it is, as the answer.

3) Use client testimonials in any follow-up autoresponder series you may use. If you’re talking about a particular aspect of your business, then include comments such as “and here’s what Mrs Johnson said about”

4) Put all your testimonials together as a pdf report that potential clients can download for free from your website. This would be great if you could include photos of the writers (if you get a testimonial, but no photo, then just write back to them and ask!) as it will add even more credibility.

5) Try turning your testimonials into case studies and articles to use for promotional purposes. Use enticing headlines based on the main point each testimonial covers. Many people will relate to the ?problem? your client experienced and if your product or service solved that problem, then seeing how it benefited someone else will really help your sales.

6) Don’t forget to use client testimonials in your offline marketing too. They are powerful and should be included in your brochures, newsletters, postcards etc. You could even try using them in radio or TV adverts. This has been done many times before, so why not include them, if you use this form of marketing.

7) Press releases can be very powerful methods of including client testimonials. If you think offline publications and media organizations may have an interest in what you have to say, then don’t be afraid to get in touch with them. Write to their editors and then keep in touch.
