GMail Themes: New email themes from Google

November 20, 2008 · 0 comments

Google has started a new feature that allows users to choose themes for Gmail. For a while Google has provided a set of themes that change the look of the iGoogle personalized homepage, but now they’ve introduced official themes for Gmail.

The new GMail theme option can be found in the Gmail settings menu, to the right of the Labs option – if it’s there it will be under “Themes”, but if you can’t find the themes tab in your settings, it’s not a hoax. Google’s way of doing things is usually to send out new features in phases, which means that some users get their updates before others do.

So if you can’t access Google’s GMail themes yet, you might want to check out Gmail Redesigned, which is an unofficial theme that changes the appearance of Gmail when it’s viewed in Firefox.

From what we’ve seen – the new GMail themes are pretty cool – we’ve just got ours and have setup “New Blue”.
